
Ingredients:
• For pudding: Milk – 1/2 litre
• Sugar – 10 tbsp
• Egg – 5
• Vanilla essence – 5 drops
• Butter for greasing – 1 tsp
• For caramel syrup: Sugar – 7 tbsp
• Water – 1/2 cup
Method:
- Pre-heat an oven to 180 degrees C.
- Grease a medium-sized oven-safe bowl and keep aside.
- Beat the eggs and add vanilla essence, sugar and milk and keep aside.
- In a heavy-base saucepan, heat the sugar to prepare the syrup. When the sugar melts and becomes brownish, pour water and stir continuously until it thickens.
- Pour this mixture into the greased bowl. Add the custard mix carefully on top of the caramel syrup and bake in the pre-heated oven for 30 minutes or until cooked.
- Insert a skewer to check. When the pudding cools, refrigerate for an hour before serving.
