Ingredients:

• For Usili:
• Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
• Chana dal – 1 tbsp
• Red Chillies – 3
• Hing – 1 pinch
• Salt – To taste
• Curry leaves – 1 stick
• For curry:
• Broccoli – 1 bunch (cooked with salt and Turmeric powder)
• Seasoning:
• Oil
• Mustard – 1 tsp
• Urad Dal – 1 tsp
• Green chillies – 1
• Curry leaves – 1 stick

Method:

  1. Grind the ingredients for usili into a coarse paste. Steam paste for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add the seasoning.
  3. When golden brown, add the cooled usili and fry on low fire until it becomes small and crispy.
  4. When golden brown, add the cooked broccoli and fry for 5-10 minutes.
  5. This goes well with vathal kuzhambu rice or morkuzhambu.
