Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Channa
• 1/2 cup – Chopped Cucumber
• 1/2 cup – Chopped Tomatoes
• 1/2 cup – Chopped Spring onion
• 1/2 cup – Cabbage (Shredded) (optional)
• 2 tsp – Chat Masala
• 2 tsp – Lemon Juice
• 1/2 cup – Capsicum (optional)
• 1 tbsp – Salad Oil or Olive oil (Can be made without oil also).
• 2 – Green Chillies, finely chopped
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak Channa overnight.
  2. Tie them in a soft cotton cloth for 9 to 10 hrs.
  3. Keep in a warm place.
  4. Pressure cook the Channa till done. (Approx. 5 to 6 whistles)
  5. Place all the chopped vegetables (cucumber, tomatoes, spring onion, cabbage, capsicum) together.
  6. Drain out the water from the channa.
  7. Mix all the ingredients i.e. channa, chopped vegetables, chat masala, lemon, oil and salt.
  8. Refrigerate the salad for about an hour. Serve.
