
Ingredients:
• 1.5 lb – chicken, cut into small pieces
• 1/2 bunch – Coriander leaves
• 1/2 bunch – Mint leaves
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• 1 – large onion, sliced finely
• 2 tsp – Lemon juice
• salt to taste
• oil or Ghee for frying
• For the paste: 1 – whole Garlic clove, medium sized
• 1″ piece – Ginger
• 3-4 – Green chillies
• 1 – Cinnamon stick
• 2-3 – Cloves
• 1-2 – Cardamom pods
Method:
- Rub salt, turmeric, chilli powder and cumin powder on the chicken pieces and keep covered for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions until brown.
- Add the chicken pieces and fry by alternating between high and medium heat.
- Add the garlic-ginger-green chilli paste and fry until the water evaporates and the mixture is dark green.
- Add lemon juice and heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust the salt, if needed.
- Remove from the heat and drain the extra oil. Garnish with coriander and mint leaves.
- Serve hot with rice and dal.
