Ingredients:
• 4 cups – Rice flour
• 1 cup – Urad Dal flour (fry the Urad Dal directly in a pan till it gets a nice brown color and then powder it finely)
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• 1/4 tsp – asafetida powder
• 2 tbsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tbsp – sesame seeds (optional)
• 1/2 cup – Coconut Milk (optional)
• Salt – to taste
• Oil for frying
Method:
- Mix together the rice flour and the urad dal flour without adding water.
- Now add the remaining ingredients to the flour and make dough by adding enough water.
- Make a ball from the dough and put it in the thenkuzhal press (with the three holed plate in the press).
- Squeeze the dough into the boiling oil through the press.
- Fry it in the oil till it turns crispy.
- Drain and store in an airtight container.
