
Ingredients:
• 1.5 kg – gol fish piece
• 3 tbsp – Ghee
• 1 – Onion (sliced)
• Salt to taste
• For grinding:
• 10 – dry Red Chillies
• A few sprigs – Coriander leaves
• 6 flakes – Garlic
• 1 inch – Ginger
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Poppy Seeds
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 – large Onion
• 10 – peppercorns
• 1 small ball – Tamarind
• 2 – Tomatoes
• 1 inch – Turmeric
Method:
- Clean the fish and remove the bones keeping the fish whole.
- Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste and apply on the fish.
- In a pan, heat ghee and fry sliced onion.
- Put the fish and all the masala, close the vessel with a lid and pour water on the lid.
- Cook on slow fire for over half an hour.
- After the water on the lid becomes hot, replace it with cold water.
- Turn the fish and let it cook on the other side.
