Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Almonds
• 1 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1 tsp – kesar/saffron
• 4 cups – Milk
• 1/2 cup – Raisins
• 1/2 cup- rice, basmati
• 1 cup – Sugar

Method:

  1. Wash and drain the rice. Soak in water for 1/2 hour.
  2. Boil milk and add drained rice.
  3. Simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours hours.
  4. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
  5. Simmer until the rice is cooked and the mixture is creamy.
  6. Now add sugar and stir well.
  7. Then remove from heat and add crushed cardamom seeds, saffron and shredded almonds.
  8. Serve hot or refrigerated cold.
