
Ingredients:
• 1 – mocha ( flower of Banana )
• 2 – medium sized potatoes.
• 5 – green chillies, slit
• 1 tbsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tsp – sugar, for caramelising
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• 5 tbsp – Mustard oil
• 1/2 – Coconut
• 4 tbsp – Bengal gram, soaked
• To be Ground:
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 1 tsp – coriander
• 1 inch piece – Ginger
• For garam masala:
• 2 cardamom, 2 inch Cinnamon – to be ground
Method:
- Clean the florets, cut all the florets into pieces.
- Soak the florets in turmeric powder and water for an hour.
- Cut the potatoes into pieces
- Take the florets and boil for 10 minutes.
- Drain the water and keep aside.
- Heat the skillet with 4-5 tbsp oil and fry the potatoes. Keep it aside.
- Put 2-3 bay leaves in the rest of remaining oil along with sugar and caramelise.
- Make fine pieces of coconut and fry it in the oil with 1/2 tsp of whole cumin.
- Put the soaked Bengal grams in it and add the masala paste to it.
- Fry all the ingredients and put the fried potatoes in it along with the boiled florets along with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp turmeric powder.
- Simmer on low heat and pour 1/2 cup of water in it to boil the potatoes.
- After the potatoes are done and the water dries add garam masala and ghee
- Simmer it for sometime and serve.
