Ingredients:

• 1 – mocha ( flower of Banana )
• 2 – medium sized potatoes.
• 5 – green chillies, slit
• 1 tbsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tsp – sugar, for caramelising
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• 5 tbsp – Mustard oil
• 1/2 – Coconut
• 4 tbsp – Bengal gram, soaked
• To be Ground:
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 1 tsp – coriander
• 1 inch piece – Ginger
• For garam masala:
• 2 cardamom, 2 inch Cinnamon – to be ground

Method:

  1. Clean the florets, cut all the florets into pieces.
  2. Soak the florets in turmeric powder and water for an hour.
  3. Cut the potatoes into pieces
  4. Take the florets and boil for 10 minutes.
  5. Drain the water and keep aside.
  6. Heat the skillet with 4-5 tbsp oil and fry the potatoes. Keep it aside.
  7. Put 2-3 bay leaves in the rest of remaining oil along with sugar and caramelise.
  8. Make fine pieces of coconut and fry it in the oil with 1/2 tsp of whole cumin.
  9. Put the soaked Bengal grams in it and add the masala paste to it.
  10. Fry all the ingredients and put the fried potatoes in it along with the boiled florets along with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp turmeric powder.
  11. Simmer on low heat and pour 1/2 cup of water in it to boil the potatoes.
  12. After the potatoes are done and the water dries add garam masala and ghee
  13. Simmer it for sometime and serve.
