Ingredients:

• 1 cup – moong dal
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Ghee
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• Saffron colour – a pinch
• 3 cups – water
• 6 – Cashewnuts
• 10 – Raisins

Method:

  1. Dry roast the moong dal till a nice aroma rises.
  2. Grind to a fine powder, sieve and set aside.
  3. Fry cashew and raisins in a tbsp of ghee and keep aside.
  4. In the same pan, heat water. To the boiling water, add sugar, saffron colour and the fried cashews and raisins.
  5. Next, add the moong dal powder and the rest of the ghee and cook stirring continuously till the ghee separates.
