Ingredients:

• For filling:
• 1 cup – grated dry Coconut
• 1 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1 pinch – Nutmeg powder
• 1 pinch – dry Ginger powder
• 4 – elaichi
• 2 tsp – Maida
• 2 tsp – Poppy Seeds
• For dough:
• 1 cup – Maida
• 1 tsp – Ghee
• Salt to taste
• Warm Milk to prepare dough

Method:

  1. For filling:
  2. Roast coconut, poppy seeds and maida separately in ghee.
  3. Mix all the ingredients and grind it.
  4. For dough:
  5. Mix all the ingredients and prepare dough.
  6. For karanji:
  7. Make small oval shaped puris from dough.
  8. Fill the stuffing inside.
  9. Apply some water or milk on the corners and seal it.
  10. Deep fry it till it turns brown.
  11. Can be served hot or cold.
