Ingredients:
• 1 cup – masoor dal
• 1 tbsp – ginger/garlic paste
• 2 – ripe Tomatoes
• Pinch – of Turmeric
• Red Chilli powder (to taste)
• Curry leaves
• Coriander leaves
• salt
• 2 Lemons
• For the baghaar: jeera, whole Red Chillies
• 1 pod – Garlic
• Curry leaves and Red Chilli powder
Method:
- Boil the washed dal with tomatoes, ginger, garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric and salt.
- Mash with ladle once totally softened.
- Add fresh curry leaves, coriander and all of the lemon juice.
- Heat oil, add jeera, whole red chillies, crushed garlic and red chilli powder in that order.
- Cover immediately with lid.
- Serve hot.
