Ingredients:

• 2 cups – Cabbage, chopped
• 1 – Green chillies, slit lengthwise
• 2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1.5 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1/2 tsp – Jeera/Cumin seeds
• 2 tsp – Oil
• 1/2-inch cube – Jaggery
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 sprig – Curry leaves
• 1/2 cup – Water
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. In a pan add oil and when hot add mustard seeds, jeera, urad dal and as they splutter add green chillies.
  2. Once urad dal changes colour to golden brown, add the chopped cabbage and mix well.
  3. Now add jaggery, turmeric powder, salt to taste and water and cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Cook till all water is evaporated and cabbage is cooked.
  5. Once done, add curry leaves and give a mix.
