Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Cabbage, shredded thinly
• 1 cup – Sona Masoori Rice/Long Grain Rice/Basmati Rice
• 2 – Green chillies, slit lengthwise
• 1 – Onion, sliced thin lengthwise
• 1-inch piece – Cinnamon stick
• 2-3 – Cloves
• 1/4 tsp – Jeera/Cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Ginger-garlic paste
• 1/2 tsp – Haldi/Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Coriander powder
• 2 cups – Water
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp + 1 tsp – Oil
• 2 tbsp – Lemon juice
Method:
- Wash and soak rice for 15 mins.
- In a pressure cooker, add 2 tbsp oil.
- Once hot add cloves, cinnamon and cumin seeds.
- Now add ginger-garlic paste and fry till its rawness is gone.
- Saute once and now add in the onions and saute again till translucent.
- Once done, add green chillies and mix again.
- Now add cabbage and then add turmeric powder and fry for a few minutes.
- Now add rice to it and fry well again for another 2-3 minutes.
- Now add coriander powder and mix well.
- Now add water, salt to taste, 1 tsp of oil and lemon juice to it and close the lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Once done, let the cooker cool down and serve.
