
Ingredients:
• 250 gms – basmati Rice or long grain Rice, washed and soaked for at least 30 mins
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 4 Cloves
• 4 Black Peppercorns
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2.5 (1 inch) Cinnamon stick
• 3 Cardamom pods, opened
• 1 very small onion, sliced
• 250 ml – (1/2 pt.) water
• 2 tsp – salt
Method:
- Wash and soak the rice. Drain.
- Heat oil and add all the spices and onion.
- When the onion is soft, add the rice.
- Add the water and salt; stir and bring to boil.
- Lower heat, cover and simmer for 40 mins. until the rice is soft to touch.
