Ingredients:

• 2 cans – Tuna fish
• 2- Onions (chopped finely)
• 1- inch Ginger (chopped finely)
• 5- Garlic pods, (chopped finely)
• 3- Green chillies, (chopped finely)
• 1/2 tsp – Pepper powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Fennel seed powder
• 1/2 cup – Coconut, (grated)
• 1 tsp – Cumin seed powder
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal
• 2 tbsp – Coriander leaves, (chopped)
• Salt to taste
• Oil.

Method:

  1. Drain the water from the tuna fish cans and mash the fish in a bowl.
  2. Now add the pepper powder, cumin seed powder, turmeric powder, fennel seed powder, salt and mix everything well.
  3. Then heat oil in a pan, splutter the mustard seeds and urad dal. Now add the chopped ginger, chopped green chillies and chopped garlic pieces to the seeds and saute until slightly brown.
  4. Add the chopped onions and saute until pink.
  5. Now add the fish and toss everything together and simmer until the water dries up and gets fried.
  6. Now sprinkle the puttu with the chopped coriander leaves and the grated coconut, cook for few minutes and remove from the stove.
  7. Serve with rice.
