Ingredients:

• 1 medium-sized – Banana (ripe)
• 1 cup – semolina/rawa
• 1/2 cup – Jaggery (grated)
• few broken pieces of cashew (optional)
• 1/4 tsp – fennel seeds, optional
• 1/4 tsp – Cardamom powder
• salt, a pinch
• oil for frying

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, mash the banana. Then add the grated jaggery and mix it well using your fingers.
  2. Now add the broken cashew, cardamom powder, fennel seeds and a pinch of salt.
  3. Finally, add the semolina and bind it into a dough.
  4. If need be, add more semolina to make dough.
  5. Keep it aside.
  6. Heat oil in a small kadai.
  7. Once oil is hot enough, slowly put small balls of the banana dough into the oil and fry till it’s brown.
  8. Remove and place it on paper napkins to drain off excess oil.
