
Ingredients:
• 2 cups – moong dal
• 2 – tomato, medium
• 1/2 – onion, sliced
• 6-8 flakes – garlic, cut into small pieces
• 2 stalks – Curry leaves
• 4 – Green chillies
• 3 – Red Chillies
• A pinch of Turmeric
• Oil and Jeera
Method:
- Wash the moong dal, cut the green chillies into small pieces. Put these together and boil them in a pressure cooker for one whistle.
- Heat the oil, put the cumin seeds, red chillies and let splutter. Then add the curry leaves and then the garlic flakes (cut into small pieces).
- Fry the garlic a little, until light brown or fragrant.
- Add the onions and let it fry.
- Next add the turmeric and then the tomatoes, sliced.
- Once the tomatoes are cooked add the dal and then the salt to taste.
- Leave it on a medium flame for 5 mins and the dal is ready.
