Ingredients:

• 2 cups – moong dal
• 2 – tomato, medium
• 1/2 – onion, sliced
• 6-8 flakes – garlic, cut into small pieces
• 2 stalks – Curry leaves
• 4 – Green chillies
• 3 – Red Chillies
• A pinch of Turmeric
• Oil and Jeera

Method:

  1. Wash the moong dal, cut the green chillies into small pieces. Put these together and boil them in a pressure cooker for one whistle.
  2. Heat the oil, put the cumin seeds, red chillies and let splutter. Then add the curry leaves and then the garlic flakes (cut into small pieces).
  3. Fry the garlic a little, until light brown or fragrant.
  4. Add the onions and let it fry.
  5. Next add the turmeric and then the tomatoes, sliced.
  6. Once the tomatoes are cooked add the dal and then the salt to taste.
  7. Leave it on a medium flame for 5 mins and the dal is ready.
