Ingredients:
• 1 cup – toor dal.
• 1/2 cup – onion, cut to small pieces.
• 3 – green chillies.
• 1 small piece – ginger.
• 2 pods – garlic.
• 1.5 tsps – dhania.
• 3/4 tsp – jeera.
• 3/4 tsp – saunf.
• 1 tsp – mustard.
• 1 tsp – urad dal.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• Curry leaves for seasoning.
• oil for frying.
• salt to taste.
Method:
- Soak tuvar dal in water for 1/2 hour. Grind the wet tuvar dal along with green chillies, ginger, garlic, dhania, saunf, jeera and salt to a coarse paste.
- Mix cut onions and turmeric powder with the ground paste and steam the mixture on greased idly plates in cooker for about 10 minutes.
- Cool to room temperature.
- Crumble the mixture to uniform consistency.
- Heat oil in frying pan.
- Add mustard, urad dal and curry leaves for seasoning.
- Fry the dal mixture along with the seasoning in low heat till the mixture is dry and light brown.
- Keep stirring to ensure uniform frying.
- Serve hot. | |
