Ingredients:

• 250 g – tooriyas
• 100 g – Poppy Seeds
• 1 – medium potato, peeled and cubed
• 1/4 tsp – Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – black Jeera
• 2 – green chillies, sliced
• 1 – small piece Ginger
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• salt and chilli powder to taste

Method:

  1. Grind poppy seeds to a paste.
  2. Peel and slice tooriyas.
  3. Heat 2 tbsps oil, and add kalajeera and the vegetables and fry nicely, put in the rest of the above ingredients with the exception of poppy seeds.
  4. Mix well and put in 1 cup water.
  5. Cook till the vegetables are almost done, then put in poppy seeds and cook till the vegetables are tender and completely dry.
  6. Pour in 2 tbsps oil and fry till the mixture turns to a rich brown colour and a nice smell comes out of the poppy seeds.
