Ingredients:

• 3 tbsp – oil
• 3 tsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Half a tsp – chilli powder
• 2 tsp – crushed Garlic
• 1 tsp – grated Ginger
• 2 whole chillies
• 2 tsp – Tomato puree
• 150 gms – peeled, chopped Tomatoes
• 6 fish steaks
• 2 tsp – salt or to taste
• Water, if necessary
• Handful of chopped Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the powders and fry for 3 mins, stirring frequently.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the water and coriander leaves) stir for 2 mins, cover and cook on low heat for 30 mins. until the fish flakes off easily.
  3. If it begins to dry out before the fish is done, add a drop of water to aid the cooking.
  4. Garnish with the chopped coriander leaves before serving.
