
Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg – elephant foot Yam
• 2 tbsp – Tamarind paste
• 4 – Onion
• 2 – Red Chillies
• 2 tsp – chilli powder
• 2 tbsp – Jaggery
• 2 tbsp – Rice flour
• Asafetida – a pinch
• Turmeric powder – a pinch
• Salt to taste
• Oil
• Curry leaves – a few
• Coriander leaves – a few
Method:
- Pressure cook yam and mash it smoothly.
- In a bowl, mix together the mashed yam, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt, jaggery, tamarind paste, rice flour and chilly powder.
- In a non-stick pan take 2 tbsp of oil and season with mustard, curry leaves and red chilli and add diced onion and fry till golden brown.
- Once done, add the yam mixture to it and keep stirring it on a low flame for 20 min
- Finally add the cut coriander leaves to it and serve.
