Ingredients:
• Papayas – 2 large (raw, cut in cubes)
• Oil – 2 tsps
• Salt – To taste
• Kalo Jeera – 1.5 tsp
• Green chillies – 5
• Haldi/Jeera powder/Dhania powder – 1 tsp each
• Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
• Bengali Garam Masala Powder – 1.5 tsp
Method:
- In a pressure cooker, heat oil and splutter the kalonji and green chillies.
- Add the cut papaya and fry for a few minutes. Then, add all the dry masalas and salt except the garam masala.
- Let the papaya cook on low heat in the pressure cooker for about 10 minutes with the lid open.
- Add a cup of water and close the lid and allow for one whistle and remove from flame.
- Once you are able to open the cooker – sprinkle with the garam masala powder.
