Ingredients:

• Urad Dal-1 cup
• Green Chilli-2
• Red Chilli-2
• Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
• Salt-to taste
• Curry Leaves-1 sprig
• Mustard-1/2 tsp
• Oil-3 tsp
• Grated Coconut-3 tsp

Method:

  1. Soak urad dal in water for 20 minutes. Drain and place it in a blender.
  2. Add salt, asafoetida, green chilli, red chilli and grind well.
  3. Mix the mixture well and then, you can grease an idli steamer. Place the mixture in the moulds and steam for 10 minutes.
  4. Once cooled, crumble them with your hands. In a pan, add oil and mustard followed by curry leaves.
  5. Add the crumbled urad dal mixture. With that, add grated coconut. Mix well. Once it is done, serve hot immediately.
