
Ingredients:
• 1 or 2 – Drumsticks
• 1/4 cup – moong dal
• 1 tsp – sambar powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 – Tomato (chopped)
• 2-3 pinches – asafetida powder
• salt as needed
• To grind: 1/2 cup – Coconut (grated)
• 1/4 tsp – Rice flour
• To temper: 1 tsp – mustard
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 1 sprig – Curry leaves
• 1 tbsp – chopped Shallots
• 2-3 pinches -asafetida
• 2 tsp – oil
Method:
- Cut the drumsticks into long pieces.
- Boil moong dal with tomato, turmeric, sambar powder. When half done, add the drumstick pieces and salt.
- Or else, pressure-cook the ingredients (up to 2 whistles).
- Grind coconut and rice flour with a little water and add to the cooked drumsticks and moong dal mixture and boil.
- Heat oil and temper with all the items listed. Brown the onions well and mix into the drumstick curry.
- Serve it with rice.
