Ingredients:
• 2 – Green apples
• 1/4 cup – Toor Dal
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Rasam powder
• 1 tbsp – Lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard seeds+cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – Asafetida powder
• 2 – Dry Red Chillies
• 5 – Curry leaves
• 2 tbsp – Coriander leaves (chopped)
• Salt
• Oil
Method:
- Peel and chop the green apples.
- Keep aside half a cup of apple chunks. Pressure cook the remaining apples chunks with toor dal and turmeric powder with enough water up to 3 hisses.
- Once they get well cooked, smash the apple and dal mixture nicely. Keep aside.
- Heat enough oil. Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies and asafoetida powder. Let it splutter.
- Once the spices get well fried, add the apple chunks and saute everything for a while.
- Finally add the apple-dal mixture with rasam powder, water, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt.
- Once they starts bubbling, add the lemon juice and put off the stove.
