Ingredients:

• 500 g – hilsa fish
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 1 large piece – Ginger
• 1 small bunch – sliced Coriander leaves
• 1 tsp – shahjeera
• 4 – green chillies, sliced
• 100 g – Mustard oil
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Grind ginger and red chillies to a paste.
  2. Clean, wash and cut the fish into slices.
  3. Mix ginger paste with turmeric and apply nicely on fish.
  4. Heat oil and put in shahjeera, after 10 secs put in fish slices and fry them nicely.
  5. Cover with hot water, put in the chillies and coriander leaves.
  6. Simmer over a slow fire for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve with plain boiled rice.
