Ingredients:

• 500 gms – Mushrooms
• 2 – Onions
• 8-10 – whole Red Chillies
• 2 flakes – Garlic (chopped)
• 1/2 tsp – pepper powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – coriander powder
• 2 – Green chillies (slit)
• 1 tbsp – Coriander leaves ( chopped)
• 2 tbsp – oil
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash, clean and slice the mushrooms.
  2. Slice the onions. Keep aside half of the onions.
  3. Grind the remaining onions, red chillies, garlic, pepper powder and coriander powder to a fine paste.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai, saute cumin seeds for a minute, then add the sliced onions.
  5. Saute onions for a minute.
  6. Then add the sliced mushrooms.
  7. Saute all the three for a minute or so.
  8. Then add the ground paste and mix it well.
  9. To it add turmeric powder and salt.
  10. Mix all together.
  11. Then add half cup water and allow it to cook.
  12. Once the mushrooms are cooked add the slit green chillies.
  13. Mix all together very well.
  14. Cover and cook the mushrooms until the entire water gets reduced.
  15. Once the water is reduced, cook the mushrooms for 15 mins on medium flame.
  16. Once they are fully cooked, garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  17. Serve hot with chapattis, puris, etc.
