Ingredients:

• 500 g Potatoes
• 2 to 3 tbsp oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2 Cloves Garlic peeled
• 6-8 Green chillies (slit and salted)
• 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1.5 tbsp dhania-jeera powder
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1/2 cup beaten Yoghurt (or Lemon juice)
• For the garnish:
• 1 sprig coriander leaves, finely chopped

Method:

  1. Boil the potatoes till just tender, peel and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds.
  3. When they splutter, add the garlic and green chillies.
  4. Stir for a while and then, add the asafetida and potatoes.
  5. Add the salt and turmeric.
  6. Stir for a minute.
  7. Add dhania, jeera and garam masala powders.
  8. Mix well and set aside.
  9. Just before serving, warm up the potato, add the spices to the beaten yoghurt and add to potatoes.
  10. Mix well and serve hot, garnished with the coriander leaves.
