Ingredients:

• 1 cup – basmati Rice
• 2 – Onions for paste
• 1/2 cup – green masala (grind Mint leaves, coriander leaves, garlic, Coconut and Green chillies as per your taste)
• 2 tbsp – Ghee
• 8 tbsp – oil/ghee
• 1 to 1.5 cup – kabuli channa, soaked in water for 6 hours and then pressure cooked
• 1 – 1.5 cups – water
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Salt
• 1 tbsp – Lemon juice
• Tomato and Onion slices for garnishing

Method:

  1. Soak the rice in water for 15 mins.
  2. Drain all the water and fry the rice in a pan with 2 tbsp of ghee for 5 mins.
  3. Heat 8 tbsp of ghee/oil in a pressure cooker and add the onion paste.
  4. Fry till it becomes light brown.
  5. Add the green masala, cooked Kabuli channa, water, salt, turmeric powder and fried rice.
  6. Cook this mixture for one whistle.
  7. Garnish with sliced onions and tomatoes.
  8. Pour 1 tbsp of lemon juice while serving.
