Ingredients:

• 3 tsp – Oats
• 1/2 – Red Chilli
• 1 – Green chilli
• 1/2 inch ginger, grated
• Curry leaves
• Coriander leaves
• 1 tsp – oil
• 100 ml – buttermilk
• Salt to taste
• 200 ml – water
• To temper:
• 1/2 tsp – mustard, urad dal, Asafoetida

Method:

  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
  2. Add urad dal, red chillies and asafoetida.
  3. Add ginger, green chilli and chopped curry leaves.
  4. Add oats and water.
  5. Finally add salt and cook till oats are done.
  6. Turn off the flame. Cool and add buttermilk (or yogurt).
  7. Serve with moar milagai (dahi mirchi).
