Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg – Chicken (cut into medium sized pieces)
• 3 – Green chillies (slit open)
• 6 – Garlic (chopped)
• 2 – Onions (chopped)
• 1 tsp – Ginger Garlic paste
• Few Curry leaves
• 1 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Fennel seeds
• Salt
• Oil
• Few Coriander leaves (chopped)
• To grind:
• 1 tbsp – Poppy Seeds
• 2 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 1 inch – Cinnamon stick
• 3 – Cloves
• Cardamom seeds
• 3 tbsp – Grated Coconut
Method:
- Dry roast all the ingredients given under the list ‘ to grind’.
- Grind them into a fine paste and keep aside.
- Meanwhile cook (simmer) the chicken pieces with enough salt, chilli powder, chopped garlic, green chillies in a pan, until the water from the chicken evaporates; keep aside.
- Heat enough oil, add the curry leaves, fennel seeds and fry for few seconds.
- Add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute until the onions turn translucent.
- Now add the ground paste, sprinkle some water and cook for few seconds.
- Add the cooked chicken pieces to the cooking masala.
- Cook everything in medium high flame until the chicken pieces get well coated with the masala.
- Finally add the coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
- Serve with rice.
