Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Maida
• 1 cup – water
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 2 tbsp – yogurt
• A pinch of salt
• 1/2 tsp – Yeast
• A few strands of Saffron
• Oil

Method:

  1. Mix curd, maida, saffron and yeast with a little oil to make a smooth, runny batter.
  2. Allow it to stand for several hours till it rises.
  3. Boil sugar and water to make a thick syrup.
  4. Keep it in warm water.
  5. Fill the batter into a bottle which can be squeezed.
  6. Squeeze into jalebis in hot oil.
  7. Drain quickly.
  8. Dip in syrup for 2 minutes.
  9. Drain and cool.
