Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Maida
• 1 cup – water
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 2 tbsp – yogurt
• A pinch of salt
• 1/2 tsp – Yeast
• A few strands of Saffron
• Oil
Method:
- Mix curd, maida, saffron and yeast with a little oil to make a smooth, runny batter.
- Allow it to stand for several hours till it rises.
- Boil sugar and water to make a thick syrup.
- Keep it in warm water.
- Fill the batter into a bottle which can be squeezed.
- Squeeze into jalebis in hot oil.
- Drain quickly.
- Dip in syrup for 2 minutes.
- Drain and cool.
