Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – black or brown Mustard Seeds
• 250 g – white Mustard Seeds
• 12 – dry Red Chillies
• 10 – pods of Garlic
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp – Sugar 1 tbsp
• A small piece of Drumstick tree bark
• Vinegar as required for grinding

Method:

  1. Remove stones from mustard seeds.
  2. Using vinegar a little at a time, grind all the ingredients except sugar and salt to a thick, smooth paste.
  3. Add sugar and salt to taste.
  4. Add a little more vinegar to make the paste into a sauce like consistency.
  5. Pour into a dry bottle and preserve.
