Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – sausages
• 1.5 cups – sifted flour
• 1/2 cup – Butter
• 1/2 cup – Cream cheese
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• mustard to taste
• 1 Egg yolk
• 1 tbsp – Milk
• Poppy Seeds

Method:

  1. Cream butter with cream cheese and salt.
  2. Add the sifted flour.
  3. Form into a ball and chill for 15 minutes.
  4. Boil the sausages and cool.
  5. Roll pastry on a lightly floured plastic sheet into a rectangle and cut into strips.
  6. Pat a dab of mustard on each sausage.
  7. Roll each sausage in a strip of pastry.
  8. Place on a greased baking tray, making sure that the seam of the pastry is on the underside.
  9. Brush each with 1 egg yolk beaten with 1 tbsp. milk.
  10. Sprinkle lightly toasted poppy seeds on the top of each roll up.
  11. Bake at 200 degrees C for about 10-12 minutes. Serve hot.
