Ingredients:

• brown chick peas (chana) – 100 gm
• Sweet Potatoes – 300 gm
• oil – 3 tbsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
• green chilies – 3, finely chopped
• Asafoetida – ½ tsp
• Curry leaves – few
• Jaggery – 2 tbsp, powdered
• grated Coconut – ½ cup
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak chana overnight in water.
  2. Drain, add fresh water and cook till soft.
  3. Cut sweet potatoes into big pieces, cook till soft.
  4. Peel and mash lightly.
  5. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard.
  6. When it splutters, add green chili, asafetida and curry leaves.
  7. After few seconds, add chana with just 3-4 table spoons of cooking liquid.
  8. Add Sweet potato, salt, jaggery and grated coconut.
  9. Mix well, cover and leave on a low flame for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Place some filling on chapatti or paratha, roll up and serve.
