Ingredients:
• 2 large – Pomfrets or any other fish cut into pieces
• 2 tbsp – Gram flour
• 6 – Green chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin
• 1 bunch – Fresh Coriander leaves
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind
• 1/2 cup – Sweet oil
• 6 – Red Chillies
• 1/2 pod – Garlic
• 1 tbsp – Dry coriander (dhania)
• 6 – Onions
• 2 tbsp – Jaggery
• 1 tsp – Salt
Method:
- Cut fish into pieces, wash and apply a little salt and keep it aside.
- Grind chillies garlic, cumin, dry coriander and 3 onions finely chopped.
- Heat oil and fry 3 tbsp. finely chopped onions until brown.
- Then add the masala and fry well; add salt and jaggery and fry for a while; then add gram flour, fry and add 2 cups water, bring it to a boil.
- Wash the fish and add the masala with tamarind water and chopped coriander.
- Cook on slow fire until fish is cooked and oil float on top.
- Serve with yellow rice or khichdi.
- A few green chillies may be added, if preferred hot.
