Ingredients:

• 1 cup moong dal without skins
• 3 Green chillies
• 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 large Tomato
• 12 Cloves of Garlic
• 2 tbsp oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds

Method:

  1. Soak and boil dal in water till soft.
  2. Mash and add water so that water is half an inch over the dal when settled.
  3. Add turmeric, chopped green chillies, tomato and coriander leaves and salt to taste.
  4. Heat oil, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and crushed garlic.
  5. When garlic is light brown, pour over dal and boil thoroughly till chillies and tomatoes are cooked.
  6. Serve as an appetizer soup or with hot rice.
