Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – rice ada
• 2.5 cups – milk
• 1/2 cup – water
• 1 tin – condensed milk
• 3 to 4 – elaichi (crush the seeds alone)

Method:

  1. Wash rice ada in cold water. Boil some water, take it off the heat, add the rice ada to it and keep aside for 15 mins. Drain the water.
  2. Boil 2.5 cups of milk and 1/2 cup water.
  3. Add rice ada to the boiling milk.
  4. Reduce the flame and cook till the colour of the milk starts to change – to light pink. (Also check that the ada is cooked well).
  5. Now pour condensed milk into it and cook for another 5 mins.
  6. If you want the palada to be sweeter, add some sugar.
  7. Sprinkle over some powdered elaichi and immediately remove from heat. Delicious palada is ready.
