Ingredients:

• 2 – Red jalapenos
• 1 – Onion
• 2 tbsp – Urad Dal
• 2-3 – Red Chillies
• 1 small piece- Tamarind
• 2.5 tsps – Oil
• 1/4 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• Salt to taste
• 2- 3 sprigs- Curry leaves.

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and saute the urad dal, red chilli, roughly chopped onion and roughly chopped jalapenos until the dal turns golden brown.
  2. Remove and add the tamarind and salt. Let it cool.
  3. Now grind it in a mixer into a smooth paste by adding water.
  4. Add it to a bowl and temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  5. Serve with hot idli / dosa.
