Ingredients:

• Snake gourd – 1/2
• Moong dal – 1/2 cup
• Urad Dal – 2 tsps
• Red Chillies – 3 to 4
• Coconut, grated – 2 to 3 tsps
• Pepper – 3 to 4

Method:

  1. Pressure cook snake gourd and moong dal.
  2. Grind the other ingredients and make it into a fine paste.
  3. When the vegetable is cooked, transfer it to a pan.
  4. Add mustard and chilli tadka.
  5. Add the ground mixture to the cooked vegetable and allow it to cook for five minutes.
  6. Add salt to this kootu.
  7. It’s ready to be served with rice.
