
Ingredients:
• 500 grams – fresh Ginger
• 500 grams – Sugar
• 3 – Cloves
• 2 pieces – Cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 1 liter – water
Method:
- Peel, wash and cut the ginger into thin slivers about 1 inch in length.
- Boil the ginger with the sugar, salt, cinnamon and cloves in 1 litre of water till the sugar melts, and the mixture thickens.
- Stir frequently to prevent the mixture from burning.
- Simmer till the sugar begins to crystallize.
- Remove from heat and pour onto a greased plate to dry.
- When completely dry and cool, store in clean jars and use whenever required.
- This is a good digestive.
