Ingredients:

• 10 – baby Potatoes
• 1 tsp – rasam powder
• 3/4 tsp – Tamarind paste
• 2 tsp – Jaggery
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• 1/2 tsp -cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal seeds
• 1/2 tbsp – red Onions
• 3 sprigs – coriander
• A pinch – Asafoetida and Turmeric
• Salt as per taste.

Method:

  1. Pressure cook baby potatoes in salt and water on medium heat until well cooked and firm.
  2. Soak the tamarind in warm water.
  3. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan and temper with cumin, turmeric, hing and urad dal.
  4. Add the cooked potatoes and saute well.
  5. Add tamarind juice, rasam powder and jaggery.
  6. Simmer and cook, covered for about 10 mins.
  7. Saute and add salt as required.
  8. Garnish with chopped onions, coriander and serve.
