Ingredients:
• 1 cup moong dal without skins
• 3 Green chillies
• 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 large Tomato
• 12 Cloves of Garlic
• 2 tbsp oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
Method:
- Soak and boil dal in water till soft.
- Mash and add water so that water is half an inch over the dal when settled.
- Add turmeric, chopped green chillies, tomato and coriander leaves and salt to taste.
- Heat oil, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and crushed garlic.
- When garlic is light brown, pour over dal and boil thoroughly till chillies and tomatoes are cooked.
- Serve as an appetizer soup or with hot rice.
