Ingredients:

• 1 – small onion, chopped
• 1 tbsp – clear Honey
• 1 – Clove garlic, crushed
• 3 tbsp – Corn oil
• 3 tbsp – Tomato ketchup (sauce)
• 1 tbsp – Tomato puree (paste)
• 2 tsp -Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tsp – chilli sauce
• 2 pinches of five-spice powder
• 8 – Chicken pieces
• Slice of Lemon and thin slices of Onion rings to garnish

Method:

  1. In a small saucepan, mix together onion, honey, garlic, 2 tbsps oil, tomato ketchup and puree.
  2. Add Worcestershire sauce, chilli sauce and five-spice powder and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Blend mixture to a smooth puree in a blender or food processor. Add remaining oil and stir well.
  4. Arrange chicken drumsticks in a roasting tin. Brush with marinade and leave to marinate for 1 hour.
  5. Reheat oven to 200 degrees C. Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes, turning and brushing frequently with marinade juices. Serve hot or cold, garnished with cress and lemon slices.
