Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Rice
• 3 – capsicum, large chopped
• 1 – onion, chopped
• 1/4 cup – Chana dal
• 1/4 cup – Urad Dal
• 3 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 10-14 – whole Red Chillies
• 1 stick – Cinnamon
• 5-6 – Cloves
• 2 – green chillies, chopped
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• A few – Curry leaves
• Coriander leaves – chopped
• 2 tsp – Lemon juice
• Salt to taste
• Grated Coconut – 3 tbsp
Method:
- Cook rice and keep it aside.
- Fry chana dal, urad dal, coriander seeds, red chillies, cinnamon, cloves separately until they become light brown.
- Then make a smooth powder of all these.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and saute for a minute.
- Then add onions and saute well.
- Add capsicum and fry until they are soft.
- After that add the rice and mix well.
- Add 3 tbsp powder and mix well.
- Sprinkle salt and lemon juice and mix thoroughly.
- Then add curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves along with grated coconut.
- Sprinkle a little more powder on top to garnish .
- Serve hot.
