Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• A few drops – green, yellow, red colour
• 2-3 drops – vanilla essence

Method:

  1. To make coloured sugar:
  2. Put 1/2 cup granulated sugar in small glass jar, with a tight lid.
  3. Add a few drops of green, yellow, red or desired colour to it.
  4. Add 2-3 drops vanilla essence.
  5. Close lid tight and shake the jar vigorously till the sugar is uniformly coated with the colour.
  6. To make iced leaves:
  7. Prepare 1 cup basic helping of coloured sugar and add the desired colour while beating.
  8. Pipe out mistletoe shaped leaves, berries, bells etc. on a clean wax paper and allow to dry and stiffen.
  9. Highlight the shades by applying a few thin strokes of edible colour-dipped brush.
  10. Lift and store carefully. Use them as decorations on cakes, puddings, etc when required.
