Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Toor Dal
• 1 – Tomato
• 3 tbsp – Tamarind pulp
• 3 tbsp – Coriander leaves
• 1 stalk – Curry leaves
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – mustard and Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal
• Oil for seasoning
• Garlic – 3

Method:

  1. Pressure cook dal with chopped tomato and mash well
  2. Add 1.5 cup of water, salt, turmeric and chilli powder, coriander leaves and curry leaves
  3. When the mixture boils, add tamarind pulp, mix well and boil for 5 more minutes on medium flame
  4. Remove and keep aside.
  5. Season the dal with a tadka of mustard, cumin seeds, urad dal, garlic and curry leaves
