Ingredients:

• 1 tsp – dried Ginger powder
• 1 tsp – Jeera (cumin)
• 1 tsp – black pepper powder
• 1 tbsp – Ghee or unsalted Butter
• 5 tsp – Jaggery or Brown sugar

Method:

  1. Heat ghee or unsalted butter in a pan in medium flame.
  2. Add dried ginger powder, jeera and black pepper powder to it.
  3. Fresh ginger paste may also be added instead of ginger powder.
  4. Fry till the jeera sputters.
  5. Add brown sugar and mix well.
  6. Do a spoon test – try to cut the mix in half.
  7. If the bottom of the pan is clearly visible, that means the mix is ready.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. It will be a little watery, but will harden soon.
