Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Wheat germ (slightly big grained)
• 1 cup – Jaggery or Sugar
• 3 cups – water
• 3/4 cup – Ghee
• 1 tbsp – Almonds peeled and slivered
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder

Method:

  1. Boil water (1 cup) and jaggery or sugar together till fully dissolved.
  2. Cover and keep aside.
  3. In a heavy sauce pan, heat ghee.
  4. Add wheat germ, stir and cook on low flame till light golden.
  5. An aroma must exude.
  6. Boil remaining 2 cups water.
  7. Add to roasted wheat germ and cook till grain is tender
  8. Add hot sweet water.
  9. Strain while pouring in.
  10. Stir gently, and cook till all water is absorbed and ghee separates.
  11. Sprinkle cardamom powder, half almonds and mix well.
  12. Garnish with remaining almonds.
  13. Serve hot.
