Ingredients:

• 12 – mackerels, cleaned, washed and slit lengthwise
• 4 tsp – chilli powder
• 1.5 tsp – thick Tamarind paste
• Salt to taste
• 1.5 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 200 ml – oil for frying

Method:

  1. Wash and wipe each fish with a towel.
  2. In a bowl, mix chilli powder, turmeric powder, tamarind paste and salt.
  3. Do not add water while making the paste.
  4. Marinate fish pieces with above marinade and set aside for one hour.
  5. Deep Fried the marinated fish till brown in colour and crisp on both the sides.
  6. Drain and serve hot.
